Over the years there has been a lot of discussion over the best running technique. Just couple of years ago the common believe was that the best way to run was to land on your heel. Nowadays we know that heel landing is not the most effective way of running to prevent injuries. There still is a lot of discussion about the "perfect" running technique. Fact is that nobody really knows what the best way of running is. What we do know, is that the way you run has a great deal in the amount of running related injuries you acquire.
Great examples of runners with a very smooth running technique are African runners like Haile Gebreselassie, Kenenisa Bekele and Eliud Kipchoge. When we take a look at the running style of these top athletes, we may conclude that it doesn't seem to take a lot of effort.
